1. Permanent exhibition in the former Director’s Residence

The 180-square-meter permanent exhibition, “Up in Görden,” presents the history of the Brandenburg prison under the Nazis and in the GDR.

The exhibition begins by taking a look at prison reforms in the Weimar Republic, and it ends with an assessment of the contemporary justice system.

2. Memorial at the Brandenburg an der Havel Prison

The Nazi justice system’s former execution center belongs to the memorial site at Brandenburg-Görden Prison and presents the biographies of twelve men who were executed there. The memorial site is located in a secure area inside the Brandenburg an der Havel Prison. Groups can schedule an appointment to visit this site.
